Dead Heat: I’m Off to Walk Doors

by on 9:21 am.

Mason-Dixon has the race as a dead heat: 47-47. The poll was in the field from October 31-November 2. The Rasmussen poll that had Tester up 4 was taken November 1. The Zogby poll showing it a 1 point race occured between October 24 and October 31.

The reality? We’re tied — at most, 1 or 2 points ahead — at worst, we’re down 1 or 2. It’s turnout now.

Go!

I’m on my way out as well, but I wanted to remind everyone that the NRA has done something to convince people that Jon wants to make them register their guns and ammo. ( so I am told by the daughter of a well connected gun loving businessman here)

If Tester were actually able to get to DC, he’d just follow party lines and do whatever Chuck Schumer and Barbara Boxer told him to do…and according to Chuck, Babs, AND the UN, guns are bad.

I wonder why John Kerry hasn’t been here to stump for Tester? Bush stumping for Burns seems to have had a positive effect.

My GOD! What OTHER wierdo or war criminal out that does he talk to that we DON’T know about yet?! No WONDER this administration is characterized by EVEN rethugly stalwarts as “dysfunctional”! When you have Haggard the Faggard advising a chimpanzee on family values WHAT DO YOU EXPECT! I wonder, just WHAT kinda family does ol’ Faggard have??????? Is bush his love chile?????????

Why are Demos so homophobic? Why are you so anti-gay. YOu always throw out the Gay bashing. You should really be more sensitive to gay people.

Also, why are Democrats against Indian education? Conrad Burns appropriated #3 Million dollars for an Indian tribe and you guys take exception to that. Why do Democrats hate Indians so much?

Comment by troutburst

maybe because that indian tribe, the Saginaw’s in Michigan, is the wealthiest tribe in the nation, and didn’t even need that money. Look at the tribes in Montana, like the Crow for instance. Think they could’ve used that money. You’re an idiot Max

Some of the people who post here seem to think that Tester will bring world peace and end hunger in his first month in office. They fail to realize that politicians are politicians. I really doubt that he gives a damn about Matt or LTW, he just wants grass roots (or astroturf) support. If he does not get elected someone putt Singer on suicide watch or at least get the guy a hobby.

Apparently you don’t remember one of Jake’s pointless posts that desicribed his excellent money saving skills due to his Jewish financial consultant and all the things he recently purchased. I only remember this because it striked me odd that he felt the need to point out he was Jewish. My comment was in no way intended to offend anyone, and I am far from an anti-semite.

You Demos and your joke botching. Everyone knows that in spite of being wicked bright and whitty, John Kerry and other demos often have trouble expressing themselves.

I know what you meant to say “You know education, if you don’t make the best of it, you don’t study hard, if you don’t do your homework and you don’t make the effort to be smart, you will not do well. If you do, you become a Jewish Financial Consultant.”

If you botch the joke you become an anti-military or worst yet an anti-semite.

Al Gore volunteered to serve in Nam. John Kerry is a decorated war hero. Cheney had four draft deferments. Jimmy Carter has the second longest record of serving on active duty of any President, only behind Dwight D. Eisenhower (who was a liberal republican by the way). The Dubya deserted his national guard unit and had his father fix the records. The democrats have twenty Iraq war veterans running for congress this year; the repubs have one.

Your point is?

Marc Racicot showed up in my friend’s ROTC unit a few days after getting a low draft number in the late 60s. No one could figure out how he got in so fast.

Maybe that explains why Smilin’ Marc got to be the Bush-Cheney Campaign Chairman in 2004. They both knew how to dodge.

You know the difference between Vietnam and Iraq? Bush knew how to get out of Vietnam.

Max, are you aware that Tester is missing 3 fingers? the military doesn’t take you if you don’t have all of your fingers! Also , are you aware that “Dubya got out of flight status during the golf war by refusing to take a flight physical? Anyone else would have faced a court maritial for that. He refused to follow orders and got away with it because his daddy was president. Bush is Chickenshit, plain and simple, but doesn’t hesitate to send our young men and women to die in a war we had no business in, but he and Cheney’s [another chickenshit] buddies rake in billions from it. By the way, I heard recently that the NRA has bought some ads with Lee Newspapers supporting Burns. Don’t know if it is still happening but if it is, tomorrow’s Lee newspapers and the election day papers will be wrapped in a plastic bag telling voters to support Burns. I know that there was some controversy about this but if your paper is wrapped in this garbage tomorrow, call Lee and threaten to cancel your subsription. The race is too close for this kind of bullshit.

Everything about this race says Burns should lose. He won by a rather narrow margin last time, he’s less popular now, this is a horrible year for Republicans, he has made a good number of high-profile really stupid statements (almost doesn’t need to be said), we have a candidate who the grassroots and college scene are jazzed about, very good Dem ground game this year, and on and on. So while the race is narrower than it has been in the past, I am still very optimistic about victory. Which is not to say anything will be taken for granted at this point, but we should be out there feeling positive as things move into the last couple days.

I said the exact same thing about the Cubs this year. You demo’s should pop the corks because the partys over. YOu definatly have it in the bag. The Repub don’t have a clue how to win elections. People in Montana hate George Bush and prefer Kerry and his wicked sharp intelligence and whit over Bush any day.

You have a lot to be happy about. YOu have a candidate that is for high taxes, pro-gay marriage, wants to cut and run from the war with terrorists, pro flag burning, pro-abortion for kids, for giving pedofiles the right to look at porn in libraries. I got to hand it to you guys. You have sure picked a winner for Montana. And its all because of those jubilant college kids who like to shout people down at debates.

I know this has made the rounds before but it bears repeating.
http://www.billingsgazette.net/arti cles/2006/11/03/news/local/33-burns .txt

My astonishment is not that Burns is for sale. That’s been pretty well-established. My astonishment is (A) just how cheaply he can be bought, and (B) how bold he is about selling his office.

He recommends a guy for appointment to the federal bench THE DAY AFTER collecting $2,000 from him? Wow! I wonder if he gave him a receipt labeled “PAYMENT FOR FEDERAL JUDGESHIP APPOINTMENT”?

Even more remarkable is that Conrad is so willing to sell federal judgeships on the cheap. I mean, his vote on the Marianas Islands went for $5,000 but he charges only $2,000 for a federal judgeship? Those jobs are lifetime appointments and pay about $150,000 a year. That’s like buying a Porsche at Wal-Mart.

I only put in 4 hours today, but hope to put in some more tomorrow and will have all day Tuesday.

It is up to us to make sure that Tester’s supporters get to the polls. That’s how we’ll win.
