They have had 6 years
by Shane Mason on 10:07 pm.
I have a question. The republicans have had almost complete control for the last 6 years. What have they done for us? I don’t want to know what they haven’t done or what they have done poorly. I don’t want to hear about the bad things. There are plenty of conservatives lurking around here, I want to know why you support Burns and the Bush administration. What have they done to prove themselves worthy of your vote? This is your open microphone, say what you will.

I’ve already got a microphone, thanks very much. So I would just ask why you care about why we support who we do. I won’t change your vote, and you won’t change mine. I don’t intend to offend, but it appears to me your just trolling for a fight.
I get the sense Shane is just straight up curious about the positives of Republican leadership. I know I would love to hear some of the comments he is asking for.
Forgive my cynicism, you’re probably right, I suppose time will provide the answer.
As a working man, I can think of very little that either Conrad Burns or Denny Rehberg has done for me. I haven’t gotten any significant tax cuts, although I have helped four of my kids over the past ten years get through college when loan programs were cut and we had to pick up the tab. I have watched the erosion of the middle class economic status, while corporations and wealthy get significant tax breaks. Finally, I am tired of being used; I think the two incumbents take advantage of during election years by getting our votes, then doing whatever they want (mainly backing G W Bush)and not even trying to help us. I think it is time for a change. The status quo isn’t working.
“but it appears to me your just trolling for a fight.”
Yeah, and as soon as I get drunk I’ll give it to him…:~)
I’ll say one thing about the republican control of Congress. At least it keeps the buffoons from the democratic party on the sidelines as far as committee chairmanships.
I already voted and you know I even voted for some democrats. Only because they ran uncontested..
Oops, time to tap the ole keg, so I’ll see ya later….HAFND!!! And that goes for all the Zoomies and Grunts out there too..
It’s been good for me.
With my 4 kids, my federal tax bill is zero.
President Bush inherited a recession, and a phony dot-com boom from President Clinton, and when 9/11 hit, our stock market crashed, and our economy went into a tail-spin. Before that day, we did over $211k a year with Malmstrom AFB and it was like turning off a light switch from that day forward.
President Bush not only spurred our economy by cutting taxes, but revenues are pouring into the treasury faster than anytime in history, and our stock market is running at record highs also.
President Bush also took unprecedented steps to hold companies accountable for their finances. Such as putting CEO’s in jail for cooking their books. That practice was totally ignored and accepted by his predecessor, as long as they were DNC contributors.
President Bush also brought a few values back to the White House. You won’t see 140 pardons on his last day in office. And he doesn’t have oral sex in the Oval office either.
President Bush also let the 1994 “It’s a crime” bill expire, which was a good thing. We were sold a real bill of goods there, just to satisfy the Democrat gun-grabbers in Congress.
George Bush represents our fight as Americans, as a free people, against an enemy evil in every way. He was brave enough against to launch our military into a fight that would effectively ruin his Presidency. Bush is a man that has cared more about my freedom than his own popularity and political career. He has protected us from an enemy abroad, as well as from the enemy within. By cutting our taxes, he has giving us the freedom to spend as we choose. By removing the Clinton gun ban he has giving us the freedom to protect our families. By creating legislation that brought the economy to its highest point ever, he has giving us the freedom to work where we please. And now, with my many freedoms I hold so dear, I choose to support the candidates that help keep these rights.
Shane, I realize that this was your attempt to be fair and even handed, but I really can’t believe I’m reading this unmittigated F*ing BS. Of the last 3 responses, the only one that even approaches reality is Squid’s. He supports Republicans because he hates Democrats. That’s honest … dumber than a post, but at least honest.
What exactly was wrong with either concernedcitizen’s OR Eric Coob’s responses? Honestly, do you believe that 1. 9/11/01 was an isolated incident OR 2. do you believe that we had it coming, that we as a nation did something that deserved having planes flown into building KILLING 3000 Americans?
As I’ve stated…the outlooks of the 2 sides of the political spectrum view the direction that the country is going differently…why are the other posts “wrong”?
I’m assuming you “believe” Squid’s post because he’s the opposite of you…”He supports Republicans because he hates Democrats. That’s honest … dumber than a post, but at least honest.” And YOU support the Democrats because you hate Republicans. That’s honest…dumber than a post, but at least honest. Is that a fair assesment?
Honestly, do you believe that 1. 9/11/01 was an isolated incident OR 2. do you believe that we had it coming, that we as a nation did something that deserved having planes flown into building KILLING 3000 Americans?
If you think that those are the only options, then you’re dumber than you sound. How ’bout 3) The administration was too incompetant to recognize that they were handed a plan (excuse me, a “list of actionable items”) for dealing with Al Queda, and they dropped the fricking ball.
And YOU support the Democrats because you hate Republicans.
You no read so good, do you? It’s been clarified to you time and again that I don’t hate Republicants; I hate stupidity. I do hate what the Republicant party has become … the party of Stupid. (Here’s a hint to get over your own stupidity, cupcake: don’t put quotes around a word I never used. I don’t ‘believe’ Squid’s post. I said it does far better at approaching reality than what Eric or ignorantcitizen wrote.)
So lets take a quick look at just what’s stupid about their comments.
President Bush not only spurred our economy by cutting taxes
Most reputable economists can’t draw any correlation between tax cuts and economic growth. But they sure can see how a war economy will inflate production and swell debt. Each of Eric’s children will inherit much more than $30,000 of national debt, a debt that grew by over $30,000 in the time it took me to write that sentence. So, answer me, why does Eric hate his children?
President Bush also took unprecedented steps to hold companies accountable for their finances.
Which explains why the administration stonewalled the Enron investigation. You know, Enron? Ken Lay? The same guy who helped set our energy policy in a secret meeting that Dickless Cheney went to the Supreme Court in order to keep secret? Yeah, rave on, Eric.
President Bush also brought a few values back to the White House. You won’t see 140 pardons on his last day in office.
Nope, GW is a law and order kinda guy. He put more folk to death in Texas than any other Governor in history, regardless of whether or not they were retarded or mentally incapacitated or their confesions were coerced. The only person who’s sentence was commuted in Bush’s Texas tenure was a serial killer necrophilic rapist. That’s right, Henry Lee Lucas, a guy who stabbed people and then fucked the corpse was the only guy who GW felt compassionately conservative about. Those are some great morals in the White House, wouldn’t you agree?
President Bush also let the 1994 “It’s a crime†bill expire,
Don’t make me laugh. That pissant didn’t let it “expire”. He stated quite clearly that he would have signed such a bill if Congress would have put it on his desk. So you tell me, is he a liar or wimp? I think wimp.
He was brave enough against to launch our military into a fight that would effectively ruin his Presidency.
Umm, not if he’d have been at all successful in Afgahnistan! The only thing ruining his Presidency is his own incompetance at actually doing the job he claims that he’s doing. And just to show us how knowledgeble you are, rkba, perhaps you can clarify how many days it’s been since Captain Fuckup promised to catch Osama Bin Ladin, dead or alive? Care to guess? I guarentee that Kevin Tillman knows the answer.
Bush is a man that has cared more about my freedom than his own popularity and political career.
And that’s why the Writ of Habeus Corpus, guarenteed by Article 1 Section 9 of the Constitution, has now been castrated. Bush loves your freedoms so much, that he will take them away to protect you from yourselves. That’s the same as raping people to show how abstinence is a virtue. Well done, George.
By cutting our taxes, he has giving us the freedom to spend as we choose.
On gasoline, and fuel oil. His tax cuts have saved me about $800 a year. My power bill and gas bill has gone up well more than that. Yeah, idiot. Tell me what choice I have again.
By removing the Clinton gun ban he has giving us the freedom to protect our families.
Oh please, for the love of God, do I need to reiterate how baseline fucking stupid that quote is? BUSH SUPPORTED THE ASSAULT WEAPONS BAN, if only Congress, dear powerless Congress, had slipped him the note he would have signed it.
By creating legislation that brought the economy to its highest point ever, he has giving us the freedom to work where we please.
If you can afford the housing before the bubble bursts, that is. And do I really need to point out how baseline bonehead unbelievably stupid it is to attribute the ability to ‘create legislation’ to the President? Bush has done fuck-all to help us, unless we are CEOs. Perhaps dumbasscitizen is just that. Who knows?
Here’s what else Bush has given us, out of his great benevolence:
More terrorists.
An unwinnable civil war in Iraq.
An untenable and unsupportable national debt.
A corrupt elitist do-nothing Congress.
Yeah, there isn’t anything wrong with the unrealistic bullshit spouted Eric or concernedcitizen, if you diregard … well, everything.
Yeah, sorry about the quotes around believe…wasn’t meant as a quotation, I’m no good at HTML code, should have been italics.
Thanks for answering the 9/11 question.
Wow, very interesting. We are not free to be clear. I was filling out a loan application recently to find the Patriot Act requires the bank to turn over my financial information the the office of Homeland Security. NOT FREE.
In addition we can now be held without cause for any reason. Not Free.
Bush is an unstable human, who according to a former CIA pyschoanalyst, is completely incapable of acknowledging the consequences of his decisions. You know what that means, he’s basically a psychotic time bomb.
Honestly, you can’t look at his face and think he understands anything about reality.
He said, after one of the worst years in american history, that he and Laura had a great year…..really? You are the president, America was attacked on our own ground, many many Americans are dead as a result, the economy, no matter what you wish to believe, is in the tank so far it will likely be decades before it recovers and you and Laura are peachy keen…..it’s scary how removed from himself he is let alone the American people.
I am not a democrat, republican or any other party. I am simply very concerned about a president who is so obviously out of touch.
Forget that he does business with known terrorists, forget he gives his friends sweetheart deals to do business with the government, remember that in one of Americans worst times he and his little wife are having the time of their life. My friends in Iraq are not, neither are their familes, and by the way, they are clear the war will never be won, we don’t know how to win this war, we will always be in Iraq and we will never attack the real enemy, Saudi’s. In addition the friends I have in the war are also clear their commrades are dying for a war over oil NOT freedom.
While he isn’t getting blown in the oval office, Americans are getting seriously blown off by the guy in the oval office.
Oh, god and the gun thing. Hey, guess what Roe vs. Wade will never go away and neither will your freaking gun. Jon Tester has a 100% voting record with the NRA. Democrats love guns as much as republicans so please stop with the fringe non-issues.
Bush doesn’t give a rats ass about your freedom, he just wants you to keep buying oil from his Saudi terrorist pals. Wonder why Burns and other R’s voted against a bill prohibiting the US from doing business with known terrorists…..BECAUSE THEY ARE IN BUSINESS WITH TERRORISTS.
You are being fooled if you think anything else, seriously, he has done nothing but fail Americans and the human race entirely and is a liar among theives.
He should be in jail and not the oval office.
Hey Sid, if Democrats love guns as much as Republicans why did they sign the clinton gun ban that after 10 years was proving to do far more hurt than good. I had to wait 10 years to buy a lot of firearms. They ban guns, did you forget that Clinton opened a magazine and thats what he banned!? It looked bad!! Tester doesn’t support Gun Control, I was posting for Dubya, not Burns. Kerry is a massive gun control fiend.
You do remember that Bush, in the third debate against Kerry, stated quite clearly that if Congress were to put an extension of the AWB on his desk, he would sign it, don’t you? Don’t try to snow me that your boy is any better about gun-control than anyone else. If he thought it would get him votes, Bush would say that eating pig feces was a good idea.
“If he thought it would get him votes, Bush would say that eating pig feces was a good idea.”
Nah, I don’t think so Woof. I’m sure he’s well aware of what that kind of behavior got the democrats these past few elections..
And Woof, I don’t hate democrats. I think detest or maybe despise are better words and it’s only some democrats, particularly those who snarf around Congress, the liberal media and Hollyweird. Youse guys and gals, here at the LITW, I don’t hate, detest or even despise cause where else in Donkey Land could I be treated with such courtesy and respect. Then throw in the entertainment value as a bonus…
Hic!!!! Damn I’m going to have to switch to a better beer. This Great Falls Select, I had stashed away, appears to have gone bad….
As usual Rob, you can’t argue my points. It’s almost too easy to win discussions over here.
Eric, every time I’ve ‘argued your points’ you’ve run away screaming. You haven’t even come close to winning an argument with me yet. Give it a rest, for once.
